I am not a recording artist, these files are of me and my friends making recordings in my bedroom.
I have added acoustic mirrors to some of them which applies a mirror of an acoustic environment
thus making the recording sound as if it were recorded somewhere else. Any suggestions of how to
make these recordings better would be greatly appreciated. They are placed in chronological order
of recording; by doing it this way its easier to see my progress of recording techniques. I have
not used any equalization or compression in any of them and have yet to figure out how. Comments
on origional compositions are welcome as well. NOTE: To save a file to your computer rather than listening from the site (Which can be slow depending on your connection), you can right click on the download link and "Save As". If you are interested in purchasing my recordings on CD in a high-quality format inside of a case with a booklet, inlay, and CD label...please click here. |

Tombeau M. Comte de Logy The term tombeau means, literally, "tombstone." It was first applied to poetry in the 16th century; in the following century, musicians began using it for compositions written as memorials to persons of significance. The individual memorialized in a tombeau might be a public figure, but just as often the subject was of significance primarily to the composer. In the late 17th century, the tombeau became fairly common in the repertoire of lutenists, harpsichordists, and gambists. This recording was made in a standard bedroom with a single standard microphone - A Shure sm57. The artist in this recording is David Dilley. |
